“Owning our story can be hard but not nearly as difficult as spending our lives running from it. Embracing our vulnerabilities is risky but not nearly as dangerous as giving up on love and belonging and joy—the experiences that make us the most vulnerable. Only when we are brave enough to explore the darkness will we discover the infinite power of our light.”

Transforming mental healthcare

Heidi has been providing psychotherapy services since 2007. Since the beginning, Heidi has focused her therapeutic work on helping individuals struggling with symptoms of depression, anxiety, eating disorders, life adjustments, relational issues, and grief. Heidi also assists individuals experiencing self-esteem related concerns, dissatisfaction with body image, life/relationship dissatisfaction and general stress in achieving improved health and well-being. More recently, Heidi has developed a special interest in approaching client sessions more holistically; encompassing the mind, body, and soul using different spiritual principles for those clients open to more alternative ways of healing.

A modern approach

Some therapeutic approaches that are commonly offered include: Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Acceptance Commitment Therapy, Mindfulness and Stress Reduction practices/tools, Positive Psychology, Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT/Tapping), and Solution Focused Therapy. Whatever the approach, or combination of approaches that are suggested and offered, Heidi believes in collaboration; that is, clients are empowered to make decisions and offer suggestions and feedback regarding their own treatment.
